2008 Presidential Candidate Matching Quiz
What can I say; I'm a huge liberal. But, practically speaking, my votes for Obama. First and foremost, just because I'm very leftist, doesn't mean we don't need someone the entire country can relate to (in terms of policy). Having listened to the man speak in person was amazing; shaking his hand was even better. Things might be different had I thought Kucinich stood a fighting chance. And I know nothing about Gravel, aside from the fact that ABC didn't invite him or Dennis to the debate.

it is only once in a while that you see someone whose electricity and prescence matches yours at that moment
and then usually it's a stranger.
it was 3 or 4 years ago i was walking on Sunset Blvd toward Vermont when a block away i noticed a figure moving toward me.
there was something in her carriage and in her walk which attracted me.
as we came closer the intensity increased.
suddenly i knew her entire history: she had lived all her life with men who had never really known her.
as she approached i became almost dizzy.
i could hear her footsteps as she approached.
i looked into her face.
she was as beautiful as i had imagined she would be.
as we passed our eyes fucked and loved and sang to each other
and then she moved past me.
i walked on not looking back.
then when i looked back she was gone.
what is one to do in a world where almost everything worth having or doing is impossible?
I went into a coffee shop and decided that if i ever saw her again somehow, I'd say "listen, please i just must speak to you..."
I never saw her again
I never will.
the iron in our society silences a man's heart
and when you silence a man's heart you leave him finally with only a cock.

Wow. I just saw this on Facebook. I'm pretty sure this is one of the most awful things I've seen.
http://www.melanocorp.com/
Melanotan II is an analog of the peptide hormone alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone that induces skin tanning.---
---Um, wow. Now, people are actually injecting themselves with this drug to get "naturally tan."

Today I got this email along with my first warning. The email was very threatening and entirely ominous:
Remember if you receive 2 warnings you will be expelled from NHS and not receive a tassel to walk with in graduation.
One down, one to go. I think I have 5 credits. We should have 9. We need 12 by the end of the year.
Sheeesh.

The Naked and the Nude Robert Graves
For me, the naked and the nude (By lexicographers construed As synonyms that should express The same deficiency of dress Or shelter) stand as wide apart As love from lies, or truth from art.
Lovers without reproach will gaze On bodies naked and ablaze; The Hippocratic eye will see In nakedness, anatomy; And naked shines the Goddess when She mounts her lion among men.
The nude are bold, the nude are sly To hold each treasonable eye. While draping by a showman's trick Their dishabille in rhetoric, They grin a mock-religious grin Of scorn at those of naked skin.
The naked, therefore, who compete Against the nude may know defeat; Yet when they both together tread The briary pastures of the dead, By Gorgons with long whips pursued, How naked go the sometime nude!
Also...Christine and I, in amazing group effort fashion, changed a tire today. This may seem trivial, but when my dad refused to teach me how a while back (and yet showed my brother), I felt very...proud. Granted it was a team effort, I now know how to do something for myself. And Nelson was sweet when he offered to pay for our lunch since we helped, but, I didn't take him up on it. I was just glad for the opportunity to leanr something new.

| My Week |
[10 Dec 2006|05:54pm] |
Hmmm. I don't remember everything that I wanted to post since I kept putting it off...
Thursday- play with Matt. All my friends did an amazing job. Sarah made me cry, she was so good. Aaron and Ryan and Andrew were amazing, as well. Friday- Went to the play again for NHS/CCS and got a flat tire. Then I got Matt dinner and watched battlestar. Saturday- Slept forever. Then had dinner at my aunts. Got in a huge fight with my family about freedom of speech and gay rights. Left feeling pissed off. Sunday- built a gingerbread house and did a huge gov project.
Sooo tired.

Modern, Cool Nerd
91 % Nerd, 65% Geek, 39% Dork |
For The Record:
A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia.
A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one.
A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.
You scored better than half in Nerd and Geek, earning you the title of: Modern, Cool Nerd.
Nerds didn't use to be cool, but in the 90's that all changed. It used to be that, if you were a computer expert, you had to wear plaid or a pocket protector or suspenders or something that announced to the world that you couldn't quite fit in. Not anymore. Now, the intelligent and geeky have eked out for themselves a modicum of respect at the very least, and "geek is chic." The Modern, Cool Nerd is intelligent, knowledgable and always the person to call in a crisis (needing computer advice/an arcane bit of trivia knowledge). They are the one you want as your lifeline in Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (or the one up there, winning the million bucks)!
Congratulations!

| | The Peach Random Gentle Love Master (RGLMf)
Playful, kind, and well-loved, you are The Peach.
For such a warm-hearted, generous person, you're surprisingly experienced in both love and sex. We credit your spontaneous side; you tend to live in the moment, and you don't get bogged down by inhibitions like most women your age. If you see something wonderful, you confidently embrace it.
Your exact opposite: The Nymph Deliberate Brutal Sex Dreamer | You are a fun flirt and an instant sweetheart, but our guess is you're becoming more selective about long-term love. It's getting tougher for you to become permanently attached; and a guy who's in a different place emotionally might misunderstand your early enthusiasm. You can wreck someone simply by enjoying him.
Your ideal mate is adventurous and giving, like you. But not overly intense.

So, this isn't an official LJ poll because I refuse to upgrade to a plus acount. I think its a horrible idea. If I really wanted to, I'd pay for an account, but this is good enough. Make your vote count. Comment!
Vote (yes) or (no).

So I've been working on my paper for some time now and, while its going okay, its dull, thankless work. So, I spent some time at the gym which was good, but when I came home, exhausted and hungry, I still had a paper to work on.
Well...let me tell you how my mom cheered me up. She gave me the coolest LED toy I have ever owned. It is a pig whoe nostrils light up with blue LEDs when you push a button. It also makes sounds.

Smile :)
